Born in Tokyo, Japan, Yuno Ambo received her first lessons at the age of 4 (at the Talent Education Institute).
She graduated from the Music High School attached to Tokyo University of Arts, and Tokyo University of Arts with the Doseikai Prize and the Acanthus Music Prize.
In 2024, she graduated her masterʼs degree from Tokyo University of Arts with the top score and was awarded the Taito Ward Mayor’s Prize.
Currently, she is studying at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris as a scholarship student of the Perfectionnement program.
In 2022, she completed the highest degree in chamber music with unanimous acclaim from the jury, in addition to skipping a grade.
In 2023, she completed the highest degree at the top of her class.
Yuno is prize winner at several competitions such as:
2021, 2nd Prize at the 14th Viva Hall Cello Competition.
2018, Third prize at the 13th Viva Hall Cello Competition.
2016, Second Prize at the 70th All Japan Student Music Competition
2016, Second prize at the 10th Yokohama International Music Competition. 2011, Bronze award at the 11th Izumi-no-Mori Cello Competition. Numerous other awards received.
Many other prizes have been awarded.
Yuno performed at the 43rd ,44th and 46th Regular Chamber Music Concert through an internal selection in Tokyo University of the Arts. She also performed at the concert hosted by Tokyo Metro Foundation and at La Folle Journee three times (solo recital and chamber music concert).
2020, Appeared on a Japanese music television Lalala.
2021, Recommended to perform in an opera concert conducted by Riccardo Muti at the Tokyo Spring Music Festival.
2021, Invited to perform at the Nagano International Music Festival.
2021, Invited to perform at the Kitakyushu International Music Festival
Yuno appeared in the collaboration performance between the Tokyo University of the Arts and Vietnam National Conservatory of Music, recommended by the university.
She participated in the cultural exchange program held between the Tokyo University of the Arts and South California University as well, and performed in the collaboration concert.
She has participated as an orchestra member in the Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra, the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestra de Consuelo de Paris.
She has studied in master classes with Gavriel Lipkind, Miklos Perenyi, Frans Helmerson, Raphael Pidoux, Michal Kanka, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Antonio Meneses, and Henri Demarquette. Music academies she participated includes Kyoto France Music Academy, Akiyoshidai Music Academy, Kaminoyama Music Festival and Liszt Conservatory, and appeared in student selection concerts in every masterclass.
Yuno has studied with Yoshihiko Terada, Toru Kawakami, Fumiaki Kohno, Yasuhiro Yamamoto, Kenji Nakagi, Nina Patarcec, Henri Demarquette.
