Maÿlis Arrat developed a keen interest in the accordion at a young age. At 15, she entered the Toulouse Conservatory and completed her course of study there, winning top prizes including the Conservatory of Gennevilliers award in 2022 with highest honors.
- In 2018, she won the gold medal first prize at the national competition in Paris (UNAF).
- In 2020, she founded the Duo Acrilys with soprano Claire BOUYSSOU.
- In 2022, she was awarded the 47th Premio Internazionale Fisarmonica in Castelfidardo (PIF),
one of the most prestigious international classical accordion competition.
At 19, Maÿlis worked with the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse on the world premiere of the children’s opera Orphée. She has pursued a solo career in classical and baroque music, performing at festivals in France.
Since early on, Maÿlis has benefited from the mentorship of the greatest contemporary composer for the classical accordion, Franck ANGELIS, who continues as her teacher to help develop her energy and palette.
