Ani Melikian began studying piano from the age of 5 (November 1, 2022) at Yerevan Specialized Music School, Tchaikovsky, in Yerevan, Armenia. She has progressed well and is learning the fundamentals of music and music theory in addition to her instrument of choice, the piano.
She is a very vibrant, intelligent and at the same time, playful child. She takes her love of music very seriously and expresses herself through singing and dancing in addition to playing piano. Her teachers at school, have identified her strong grasp and capacity for learning music theory as well as her innate sense of rhythm.
Considering her young age, as parents we are very selective and mindful of the extent of competitions she participates in while gradually exposing her to the world around her. In this regard, on May 11th, 2024, she participated in Yerevan’s “Kamerton -Soloist” IV International Competition of Performing Art, receiving IV Prize in the category of solo piano, ages 6-10 (she was the youngest participant). Also, she received the 1st Prize from Concours International de Jeunés Musiciens de Talent “Nouvelles Étoiles”, Paris, France, in the same category, ages 3-6. In October of 2024, she participated at Colafemmina Piano Competition, in Acquaviva delle Fonti (Bari), Italy, receiving 1st Prize in her age category.
